My name is Elizabeth (Lisa) Corrales and I am the owner and founder of Medical Assistant Network. I started this business after seeing a high turnover rate in the MA field. I discovered this mostly while working as a medical assistant instructor. I would send my students out on externships and they would constantly come back and tell me the MA that was there last week was not there anymore. I also saw office managers spending hours trying to find the right MA for their office only to receive over 75 resumes with only about 4 qualified applicants. I also see MA’s who are constantly looking for jobs but are unable to find one. I knew there was a way I could help everyone and bring them all to one location. This is where the Medical Assistant Network is born.
My husband and I have been together since we were in high school. After we graduated in 1997 he went into the Navy. We had our first daughter in 1998 and right after she was born I went to Medical Assisting school. I thought it would be the perfect job for me as a Navy spouse due to the fact we would be moving all of the time. We did move a lot an I worked as an MA in many different states and specialties. We had two more children, and then I decided to go back to school to receive my bachelor's degree. Shortly after my husband got out of the Navy after 14 years we moved to Arizona. I discovered a position to teach Medical Assisting at a CTE high school. These years teaching young students how to be a good medical assistant’s have been some of the best. The field means a lot to me and I am hoping to help revitalize it by giving more people an opportunity to receive jobs and more offices the ability to find qualified applicants. It really is a win-win for everyone.
